Eagle H Jr

Eagle H Jr. of Biloxi, Mississippi, was born with Cerebral Palsy, which caused weakness and paralysis on the left side of the body. In 2017, he suffered a seizure that threw him out of his bed, which added additional paralysis and complications.

For Eagle, gaming has always filled a void. He enjoyed games like Medal of Honor, Metal Gear Solid, Diablo, and World of Warcraft, but after his seizure, this made gaming almost impossible for him. His father always supported Eagle but didn’t know how to help when it came to video games. He said “I myself don’t play video games and have no clue what he needs, so it’s hard for me to help him. Unfortunately, he has both mental and physical disabilities so communicating his needs is frustrating.”

Eagle turned to AbleGamers and met with our Peer Counselor, Aaron. Through several months of consultations, different solutions were discussed and tested to determine his gaming needs. Eagle was resilient throughout the process and was determined to get back in the game. His father added, “I’ve found that he just has to try things out. He does stay positive, focused, and usually figures out a way.”

Eventually, Aaron and Eagle agreed that the PS4 One-Handed Custom Controller from Evil Controllers would be a good fit. AbleGamers provided Eagle with a customized controller. After some initial struggles with learning how to use the controller, Eagle is now able to play most of his favorite games again and enjoy the social interaction that the gaming world provides. We are so happy we could join Eagle Jr. on his quest to get back to gaming.
